FDA approves irritable bowel drug

The Food and Drug Administration approved the first U.S. drug to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation in adult women, a medicine marketed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co and its developer, Sucampo Pharmaceuticals Inc.
